No, we’re not referring to the “Hole-In-The-Wall” landmark found along the coastline of the Eastern Cape. But this project was definitely a logistics adventure!
Our challenge – to safely transfer 360 Casino Machines from street level, up to the The Marco Polo Casino in the heart of Sandton, with the only available access through a temporary hole in the wall, on the 2nd floor.
Critical factors included stringent time constraints and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Bad weather and Sandton CBD traffic volumes created additional complications during operations. The project demanded flexibility and an understanding of our Clients’ requirements. At Redline we thrive on these unique logistics challenges.
Critical Factors
- Do not disturb patrons in Nelson Mandela Square
- Operations can only proceed during the hours of 06:00am and 09:00am
- Avoid disturbing the traffic flow in the heart of Sandton CBD
Redline took charge of the entire logistics supply chain for this project. This included:
- Collection of the Casino Machines from the various suppliers
- Transfer to Nelson Mandela Square
- Off-loading and delivery into The Marco Polo Casino
Our unique offering to the logistics industry is our ability to conceptualize and implement a unique solution to a seemingly impossible logistics challenge.
